How the Grant Works

A circle of knowledge and trust.

Unlike a one-way scholarship, this grant is built on the principle of mutual responsibility. What you receive today, you return when you can — so the next seeker has the same opportunity.

01

You Apply

आवेदन

Submit your application through the dedicated portal with admission details and fee structure.

02

Trust Approves

स्वीकृति

The committee reviews each case individually. Approved grants are disbursed directly to the institution or to you.

03

You Study

अध्ययन

Focus on your higher studies without financial worry. Follow trust guidelines and stay in periodic touch.

04

You Return It

वापसी

After completing your studies and a 1–2 year grace period, you return the principal — interest-free.

And the cycle continues.

— और चक्र चलता रहता है

The amount you return becomes the support for the next student in line. This is what makes the grant sustainable across generations — and it is why we ask each beneficiary to honour the commitment, not as a debt but as a gift forward.

What Makes It Different

Not a loan. Not a charity. A living grant.

Most education support takes one of two forms — a scholarship that creates dependence, or a loan that creates anxiety. This is a third path: dignified, mutual, and sustainable.

Zero Interest, Always

शून्य ब्याज

The amount you return is exactly the amount you receive. No interest is ever charged — the trust does not seek profit from this program.

Generous Grace Period

अनुग्रह अवधि

You only begin returning the amount after your studies are complete and a 1–2 year grace period — when you are settled and able.

A Mutual Commitment

What we ask of you.

परस्पर विश्वास का संकल्प

The grant works because past beneficiaries return the amount, freeing it up for the next student. There is no contract that binds you in fear — only a commitment that connects you to a circle of mutual care.

The expectations below are not legal warnings but the shared understanding that keeps this program alive across generations.

Use the funds for the stated purpose

निर्दिष्ट उद्देश्य

The amount is granted for your stated higher education. Using it for an unrelated purpose changes the nature of the agreement.

Maintain academic progress

शैक्षणिक प्रगति

Stay enrolled, complete your course, and update the trust on major academic milestones.

Return the amount after the grace period

समय पर वापसी

Once you are settled — typically 1–2 years after course completion — return the principal as per the agreed timeline.

Communicate openly if circumstances change

पारदर्शिता

If life throws unexpected difficulties, talk to us. We are flexible with sincere students — silence is what creates problems.

Honesty in information & intent

ईमानदारी

Misrepresentation or fraudulent claims void the interest-free terms — recovery may then include applicable interest. We trust applicants completely; this clause exists only to protect the program.

Frequently Asked

Common questions.

If your question isn't here, write to us at assistance@sgpt.in — we typically respond within 48 hours.

Neither, exactly. It is a refundable grant — interest-free by design. Unlike a scholarship, you return the principal once your studies are complete and you are able. Unlike a loan, there is no interest, no profit motive, and the terms are mutual rather than commercial. The closest traditional concept is "अनुदान" — a gift forward.
Under normal circumstances, no — the amount you return is exactly the amount you receive. The only exception is in cases of misrepresentation, fraud, or wilful violation of the program's terms, where applicable interest may be added during recovery. This clause protects the program, not punishes sincere students.
The standard expectation is that you begin returning the amount after completing your studies plus a 1–2 year grace period — by which time you would typically be working and able to manage repayment. The exact return schedule is mutually agreed at the time of approval, not unilaterally imposed.
Talk to us. The trust is flexible with sincere students whose circumstances have genuinely changed. We can extend timelines, accept partial repayments, or restructure the schedule — we have done this for many beneficiaries. Silence and avoidance is what creates problems; open communication never does.
The grant is open to anyone pursuing higher studies in Jain Darshan or related disciplines, regardless of personal background. Sincere academic engagement with the field is the requirement — not religious affiliation.
Disbursement is typically made directly to the institution against the fee receipts you submit. In specific cases — books, examination charges, or where institutional payment is not feasible — disbursement may be made to your registered bank account against documented requirements.
Most applications are reviewed within 2–3 weeks of complete submission. Complex cases may take longer. You can track your application status at any time via the dedicated portal.
Fully confidential. Application details are seen only by the review committee and are never shared publicly or with third parties. The only exception is anonymized data used for trust reporting and to share success stories with consent.
